On March 30 and 31, 2026, IMD Lausanne hosted the FEI Sports Forum, the major annual meeting of the International Equestrian Federation. This high-profile event brings together leaders, athletes, officials, and partners from the world of equestrian sports. To give this meeting a strong visual signature, DolceVista Switzerland designed and produced a custom stage display, intended to reflect the energy and modernity of the equestrian world.
A look back at a project that perfectly illustrates our expertise in event scenography.
A challenge: Embodying the equestrian world with a modern touch
Dressing the stage of an international forum is more than just putting up a printed panel. The challenge was to create a central, immediately identifiable element capable of representing the richness of equestrian disciplines while asserting a resolutely contemporary image.
The resulting display features a set of silhouettes of riders and horses in action: dressage, show jumping, driving, vaulting, and eventing. Each discipline is represented, forming a dynamic composition that tells the story of the sport’s diversity. Against a background of vibrant gradients—purples, blues, and touches of orange—the whole piece exudes an impression of movement and vitality, moving away from the sometimes overly traditional codes of horse riding.
The objective was twofold:
- to showcase the federation’s image in a strong way consistent with its visual identity;
- to promote the equestrian environment in a modern, accessible, and engaging spirit.
Technique at the service of impact: Layering
What distinguishes this display from a simple printed visual is its physical dimension. To give the composition depth, we worked with layered elements. The silhouettes of horses and riders were cut out and then arranged on several planes in front of the background.
This 3D technique produces a striking relief effect. Where a poster remains flat, the display gains presence: the subjects seem to emerge from the background, creating a perspective that naturally draws the eye. Under the stage lighting, these different levels of depth also generate shadows that further enhance the three-dimensional feel.
The result is an object that is both graphic and sculptural, functioning equally well from a distance as a visual landmark in the room, and up close as a backdrop for photos shared by participants.

Scenography designed for the space
Beyond the centerpiece, the event’s branding included several consistent elements: the main volumetric display on stage, as well as lecterns in the forum’s colors, aligned with the same graphic charter. This overall consistency is essential for a professional event. It creates a cohesive visual identity, from the large backdrop screen to the smallest detail, and reinforces the sense of quality and professionalism expected of an international gathering.
For a forum bringing together prestigious partners and a discerning audience, every visual element contributes to the overall experience and the organizer’s credibility.
Why volumetric displays appeal to event organizers
This project illustrates a fundamental trend in event communication: the shift from flat media to scenographic elements. Several reasons explain this popularity.
- Immediate visual impact. A 3D set captures attention much more effectively than a traditional banner. In an environment saturated with screens, physical volume creates a break that leaves a lasting impression.
- Photographic value. A well-crafted display naturally becomes a meeting point for official photos and social media shares. The event thus extends its visibility far beyond the room.
- Modularity. Designed to be assembled and disassembled, these displays can be transported and reinstalled, making them relevant investments for organizations active across multiple events.
- Brand consistency. The display becomes the visual flagship of the organizer’s identity, adaptable across all event materials.
From design to installation: Complete mastery
A project of this type mobilizes the entire production chain. It all begins with an analysis of the needs and an understanding of the client’s world—in this case, the richness and values of equestrian sports. Then comes the graphic design, which must compose a clear and dynamic image from multiple disciplines. Next is manufacturing, with the precise cutting of silhouettes and the assembly of the various layers. Finally, on-site installation, respecting the constraints of the venue and the event schedule.
It is precisely this end-to-end mastery that guarantees a result that meets expectations, even for an international event like the FEI Sports Forum. Thanks to its in-house production workshop, DolceVista Switzerland maintains control over every stage, ensuring responsiveness, consistent quality, and adherence to deadlines.
Add depth to your next event
The display created for the FEI Sports Forum demonstrates that a well-thought-out stage backdrop can transform the perception of an event. More than just decoration, it is a true communication tool that embodies an identity, captures attention, and remains memorable.
